Our Christmas blend this year hails from two formidable female-focussed coffee cooperatives from different sides of the world: Donas do Café project in Brazil and Rebuild Women’s Hope in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). 

A bright and syrupy blend with moderate body. Expect a fresh candied citrus start, a juicy pear middle, and a sweet finish reminiscent of dates.

Species: 100% Arabica

Process: Natural

This means the whole coffee cherry is dried in the sun once picked, allowing the natural sugars to infuse the beans, resulting in a beautifully sweet, fruity and full-bodied brew for you.

FREE SEEDS ESPECIALLY FOR THE BEES

In honour of the 3 million bees introduced at Aracaçu farm, we included a free packet of bee-friendly wildflower seeds with every purchase of RISE coffee.

While the campaign now has come to an end, the impact continues. Together, we encouraged more bee-friendly spaces to bloom in gardens, window boxes and community spaces.

Dona do Café project and Rebuild Women's Hope cooperative

Every year we release a winter blend called FESTIVE SPIRIT, capturing the warmth and fellowship of the season. Featuring community-focused producers, this spirit of togetherness is brought to life both in and out of your cup.

This year's Christmas blend brings together two remarkable female-led coffee producers: Donas do Café in south-eastern Brazil and Rebuild Women’s Hope in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

From Brazil, we've sourced coffee from two family-owned, women-led farms – Sitio Sao Jao and Sitio Maranhao – both contributing farms to the Donas do Café project, which champions and brings visibility to the women working, and often leading, in several coffee farms within SMC coffee cooperative.

In DRC, Rebuild Women's Hope was founded in 2013 by Marceline Budza with a mission to empower the often marginalised women of rural DRC through financial autonomy, gained by producing coffee.
