YOU MADE THIS HAPPEN

Together, we have reached the $80,000 needed to build an intensive care unit and operating theatre at the Hospital of Hope on Idjwi Island in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Mozzo and Rebuild Women's Hope coffee cooperative built the Hospital of Hope in 2020. In 2026, construction is now underway, marking the next vital step in expanding the hospital, so that it can provide more life-saving care for the community.

Coffee is the vehicle for change, but the true strength of this project and partnership comes from the community and people behind the Rebuild Women's Hope coffee cooperative.

prevailing hope

The first baby to be born at the Hospital of Hope, Noella Mweragi, is now a healthy 5-year-old girl growing up on Idjwi Island in Eastern DRC. Before Noella, less than 50% of pregnancies on the island made it to successful delivery. Since Noella’s birth on 26th December 2020, more than 4,000 babies have been safely delivered at the hospital. While Noella’s birth marked the start of a remarkable mission, it is still clear that more needs to be done to save lives on this coffee-growing island. That's why we're expanding the critical healthcare provision for the Idjwi Island community.
