SINGLE ORIGIN COFFEE FAQS

Single origin coffee is sourced from one specific producing region, cooperative or farm, meaning every bean traces back to a single place. Unlike blends, which combine beans from multiple origins to create balance and consistency, single origin coffee highlights the unique qualities shaped by one region’s climate, soil and processing methods. At Mozzo, our single origin coffees come from Colombia, Brazil and the DRC, each one distinct, each one sourced directly from the coffee-growing communities we work with.

Yes, though it really comes down to preference. Single origin espresso typically offers brighter acidity and more defined fruit and floral notes. If you enjoy exploring more expressive flavours in the cup and don’t mind a bit of dialling in, it’s well worth trying.

It really comes down to how you like your coffee. In our single origin coffee, you get the full, unaltered character of one place, one harvest. Sometimes that's spectacular; sometimes it's more nuanced than an everyday drinker wants. A good blend is deliberately crafted to balance flavour, body and consistency, and there's real skill in that too. At Mozzo, we love both. Single origin if you want something specific and expressive;; blends if you want a reliable, balanced daily cup.

Both. Our single origin coffees are available as whole beans and freshly ground, just choose your preferred grind at checkout. Whatever your setup, we've got you covered.

Our single origin coffees currently come from Colombia, Brazil and the Democratic Republic of Congo, sourced directly from smallholder farmers. No middlemen, no supply chain mystery. It's how we can tell you exactly where your coffee comes from, and it's at the heart of our Community2Community (C2C) Fund™, which feeds a fixed social dividend back into those same farming communities with every purchase. It's not fairtrade, it's friendship.

Our single origin coffees are roasted light to medium, deliberately. Darker roasts tend to override the nuances that make single origin worth drinking in the first place. Roasting lighter lets the character of each origin come through.
