Ube Frappé

Purple never tasted so good. Creamy ube and our seasonal RISE blend come together in a velvety frappé, balancing mellow sweetness with a refreshing citrus edge that brightens every sip.

Homemade ube syrup step 1

Add the sugar and water to a saucepan and dissolve the sugar over gentle heat.

Homemade ube syrup step 2

Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from the heat and allow the syrup to cool before adding in the ube powder.

Homemade ube syrup step 3

Mix thoroughly with a whisk until all of the ingredients are combined and there are no visible lumps.

Homemade ube syrup step 4

Store in an airtight container or bottle, refrigerate, and use within 5 days.

Ube frappé step 1

Fill a blender with 200ml of milk/alternative of choice.

Ube frappé step 2

Pour in two double shots of RISE espresso.

Our favourite recipe for a RISE double espresso:
- 18g ground coffee
- Brewed to 40-45g liquid espresso
- 28-32 second extraction time

Ube frappé step 3

Add two full glasses of ice and 80ml (or add more syrup to taste) of ube simple syrup. Blend all the ingredients thoroughly.

Ube frappé step 4

Serve and enjoy!

Optional: Before serving, drizzle a little ube syrup into your glass and swirl it around to coat the inside, letting it run up the sides. Then pour in the frappé. For an extra aesthetic drink, dust some ube powder on top ;)

What is Ube?

Ube (pronounced "ooh-beh") is a vibrant purple yam native to the Philippines. Known for its naturally sweet, earthy, and nutty flavour, it's a beloved ingredient in Filipino desserts and gives drinks, like this frappé, a vibrant pop of colour and a unique twist.
